sum times you gotta try new shiFt ….

sometimes you gots to try new shiFt.  it is why we are here – as spirit in these ‘hueman’ bodies – to explore new thangs.

i started poling when i turned 50 years old.  my mind kept telling me ‘eye’ was crazy – and that i was too old  and it was to late to be taking up such a strenuous and yes, taboo ‘sport.’

but thanks to meditation – ‘eye’ know how to quiet my rambling mind and listen to my spirit – so i continued on with my seemingly crazy pursuit.  i clearly remember being so exhausted from my daily training – that i would wake up every morning and literally – not be able to move.  waking up so many new muscles had me feeling like i had been hit by a train.  but my vision was bigger than my soreness.

today at 54, i am mastering my pole technique and have incorporated aerial hammock and aerial hoop ( lyra ) into my practice.  and my body ‘thAnkhs’ me for it!

but we are unlimited beings in an unlimited ‘you-niverse’ – and there is always and all ways new shiFt to explore.

being in the aerial community, i happened upon a new exercise  regimen called Silkstream.  per their facebook page:

Silkstreme creator Rachel Bowman of @womackandbowman dreamed of a workout that could combine the physical benefits of Pilates and Barre (core, legs, butt) with the exhilaration and freedom (and awesome upper body toning! ) that she experienced as an Aerial artist…”

i am finding that i am loving what silkstreme is doing to my body, mind and spirit.  it is toning me, defining my physique even more and lending me incredible strength and stamina as i continue to pursue pole and aerial arts.

yes, sometimes you have to try new ‘shiFt’ ….  your soul will love you for it!
